The Russian team wwschool/whitewater.guide headed down to explore their home country after a decade paddling around the world. They did 2 first descents of the crux parts of some of the biggest rivers coming down from the Elbrus mountains and the main Caucasus crest. After this trip the steep and big Balkarskiy Cherek has become the new class V classic and the Malka river is still a project to be attempted with high flow. By Mike Krutyansky
