Where does your dog ride?...

..we've had our new pup Grady on day trips a few times, and he's doing great, but I'm wondering about multi-day trips, and making sure he has a place to ride where he feels safe and comfortable, and can get out of the sun if needed. I would love to learn from other's experiences here. I want my baby boy Grady to love the river, and feel comfortable on the water.
