American Rivers: Fifty Years of Wild and Scenic Rivers in Washington: The Skagit River and Illabot Creek

6 rivers of Washington are designated as Wild and Scenic River thanks to the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Law. These rivers are recognised for being very valuable to the cultural and environmental legacy of a region that they should be preserved as natural, free-flowing waterways for the benefit and enjoyment of future generations. Here, we would take a look at one of Washington’s wild and scenic river , the mighty Skagit River system and one of its valuable tributaries, Illabot Creek.
