Dave Allen will look to take a step up in his next fight.

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn spoke to iFL TV about what’s next for Dave Allen. Hearn would say that Allen has already agreed to his next fight against what Hearn believes to be the most dangerous fighter on the offered list, and says Allen will have a tremendous amount to gain if he comes out on top. Hearn wouldn’t specifically confirm who this opponent is at this time, but says it will make for a great fight.

“Dave is one of the strangest men I’ve ever met...Basically I went to Dave Allen and went ‘do you want to fight Jeamie TKV?’ and he’s like ‘[sigh] not really.’ I said, ‘well we might get it for the British [title], he’s like ‘alright then.’

“And then like once Jeamie TKV dropped the ball he comes back to me and goes ‘I want to fight somebody really dangerous,’ and I’m like ‘but you know the money’s the same, ‘cause your money’s contracted now’ and he’s like ‘yeah, but if I fight someone really dangerous I might train harder ‘cause I’ll be scared.’

“I’m like, ‘mate, Dave, can’t you just train hard anyway?’

‘No, I need to be scared.’

“So I sent him through a list of like four or five fighters...I think those fights: Tony Yoka, Nelson Hysa the Albanian fighter, Otto Wallin — those fights are much easier than the one he went for...I’ve given him a list of fighters, he chose the biggest puncher and the most dangerous one of the whole list.

“And he goes ‘if I beat him, what happens?’ And I said ‘honestly, if you beat this guy you will land Wilder, Parker, AJ, I don’t know. You will get a massive fight, probably a seven-figure fight if you win this fight.’ And he’s like ‘I’m in.’”
