Jake Paul Sends Strong Message to Biggest Boxing Critics

0 12

YouTuber Jake Paul has brought plenty of eyes to boxing after dedicating himself to the sport in recent years, but he has often come under fire.

Paul's detractors have criticized him for his choice of opponents, saying the content creator lacks credibility because of who he has chosen to fight in the boxing ring.

That list includes MMA fighters and, more recently, a 58-year-old Mike Tyson and a 39-year-old Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who was well past his prime before stepping into the ring with Paul, whose only loss came against boxer Tommy Fury in 2023.

Paul has heard all of the criticisms and has a message for his detractors.

"I will do what I want, with who I want, when I want, in the boxing ring," Paul wrote on X. "Anyone, anytime, anyplace. You rodents talk so much [expletive] but when I want to take on the biggest challenges you start having panic attacks and deciding my demise."

Paul has also pushed back against those who think his fights are rigged and has even threatened lawsuits against them.

Despite his controversial list of opponents, Paul was recently ranked as the No. 14 cruiserweight by the WBA, although there has been no shortage of pushback about that and there is even a review of the ranking taking place.

In the meantime, Paul has his sights set on getting a title shot at some point and has mentioned his desire to fight Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Badou Jack.
