Iglesias vs Shishkin eliminator set for Sept. 4 in Montreal
Top super middleweight prospect Osleys Iglesias will battle Vladimir Shishkin in an IBF final eliminator in less than two months
Osleys Iglesias’ previously revealed September 4th IBF final eliminator will officially pit him against Vladimir Shishkin at the Cabaret du Casino de Montreal.
Iglesias (13-0, 12 KO) is arguably the best of the “new-school Cubans,” who evolved their country’s historically defense-focused style upon realizing that rendering your opponent unconscious makes it impossible for them to punch you. Each of his last five fights have ended inside of five rounds and only the ludicrously durable Isaac Chilemba has lasted the distance in his pro career.
Shishkin (16-1, 10 KO) is coming off a tight decision loss to William Scull in hostile territory. His body of work includes a 2019 knockout of DeAndre Ware and a 2022 decision over Jose Uzcategui, making him Iglesias’ most proven foe to date. We’ll see how much good that does him.
Dzmitry Azanau, Alexandre Gaumont, Avery Martin Duval, Moreno Fendero, Wyatt Sanford, and Erik Israyelyan all see action on the undercard.
