Chavez Jr arrested by ICE, facing immediate deportation
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr appears to be headed towards a permanent one-way flight to Mexico.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr may be coming off of a rather embarrassing performance against Jake Paul last weekend, but that's the least of his problems as he's now in the custody of ICE as Ring Magazine reports he's facing an expedited deportation to his home country of Mexico.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a statement claiming Chavez Jr has an arrest warrant back in Mexico for his alleged involvement in trafficking firearms, explosives and ammunition while he’s also being accused of being an affiliate of the Sinaloa Cartel, which has been designated as a terrorist organization under President Donald Trump.
All in all it hasn't been the best week for Chavez Jr and presumably could get much worse very quickly. Given recent performances I think most boxing fans won't mind seeing him being escorted back across the border, and that’s not at all meant to be any sort of political stance.
