Alycia Baumgardner says she’d love to take on the winner of the trilogy match between Taylor and Serrano.

With champion Alycia Baumgardner set to make her return on the Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3 card, serving as the co-main event, she talks to boxing media about her career and where she could go from here as well as sharing a few thoughts on the fall fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

Baumgardner on if she wants the Taylor vs Serrano 3 winner

“Absolutely. People want to see me in these big time fights and so whoever the winner is, I want to fight them.”

On appearing on the big women’s card on July 11

“It’s a blessing. I literally remember being at the first fight at Madison Square Garden and commentating and remember saying ‘one day I’ll be here fighting’ and here we are, fighting as the co-main event at one of the biggest and history-making spots in Madison Square Garden.”

On potential interest in fighting Claressa Shields

“Listen, we got Jennifer Miranda to take care of July 11, so see that and understand that I am the standard when it comes to women’s boxing, I am her.”

On how she views a Canelo vs Crawford fight

“That’s a great fight, you have two experienced fighters. When you talk about experience, when you talk about athleticism, when you talk about skill, all of those come together when you think of Terence Crawford and Canelo. And with what I’m seeing, Canelo’s been in this game for years, he’s experienced the losses twice, he took a challenge in fighting Bivol, lost, came back. He’s doing what he loves to do.

“It’s going to be a great fight, I can’t pick a winner but experience speaks and experience will trump everything in that fight.”
