Okolie vs Lerena leads July 19 Usyk vs Dubois 2 undercard
“Bridgerweight” titlists Lawrence Okolie and Kevin Lerena will meet at heavyweight next month with the WBC “silver” title on the line
\Queensberry Promotions announced a pair of supporting bouts for Oleksandr Usyk’s July 19th rematch with Daniel Dubois, most notably another heavyweight tussle pitting Lawrence Okolie against Kevin Lerena.
Okolie (21-1, 16 KO) put on over 35 pounds between his May 2024 “bridgerweight” title win over Lukasz Rozanski and his heavyweight debut against Hussein Muhammad five months later, which saw him weigh in at 260.75 and dispatch Muhammad in 2:14. Lerena (31-3, 15 KO), another titlist in everyone’s favorite division, nearly stopped an injured Dubois and gave Justis Huni everything he could handle in his most notable heavyweight bouts.
British/Commonwealth light heavyweight champ Lewis Edmondson (11-0, 3 KO) also sees action against IBF trinket-holder Daniel Lapin (11-0, 4 KO). Edmondson notably beat Dan Azeez last October, while Lapin’s done a couple stints in Riyadh Season but has yet to claim a noteworthy scalp in nearly five years as a pro.
