“Ammo” vs Oliha eliminator joins Bam vs Cafu undercard

0 12

“Ammo” Williams, Arturo Cardenas, and Omari Jones will see action on July 19th

Matchroom has revealed the full undercard lineup for their July 19th Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez vs Phumelela Cafu show in Frisco, including an IBF middleweight final eliminator and the latest from Olympic medalist Omari Jones.

Austin “Ammo” Williams (18-1, 12 KO), now two wins removed from a rough loss at the hands of Hamzah Sheeraz last year, will face undefeated Italian Etinosa Oliha (21-0, 9 KO) in the aforementioned eliminator. The 26-year-old “El Chapo” cut his teeth on the European scene, including a stint as the one and only IBO middleweight champion, but will be taking a massive step up in class.

The winner will hypothetically be in line to fight Janibek Alimkhanuly when “Qazaq Style’s” IBF mandatory comes due around October, though unifications or other detours could interfere.

“One year ago, I found myself in the darkest space of my life, losing beloved family members, followed by suffering my first defeat as a professional pugilist,” said Williams.

“Three fights later, I find myself in position to become the #1 Middleweight in the world once again.”

“I’m very motivated and looking forward to July 19,” said Oliha. “Austin Williams is the last step before a World title shot. I am very confident that I will take this chance.”

Down at 118, Arturo Cardenas (16-0-1, 9 KO) takes on Dominique Crowder (18-0, 11 KO) in a well-matched clash of unbeatens, while Jones (2-0, 2 KO) fights Argentine journeyman Alfredo Rodolfo Blanco (23-14, 11 KO), who got knocked out in 23 seconds by Yoenli Hernandez last year.

Diego Pacheco also meets Trevor McCumby in a previously revealed super middleweight bout.
