Angelo Leo will defend his IBF featherweight title in Osaka, Japan, taking on Tomoki Kameda in the main event of a world title doubleheader.
The defense will be the first of Leo’s (25-1, 12 KO) reign, after taking the title from Luis Alberto Lopez last August via knockout. Kameda (42-4, 23 KO) is taking another crack at a world title after falling short against Rey Vargas back in 2019 in a 122 lb title fight, and he is a former bantamweight titleholder, holding the WBO belt from 2013-14.
The card will also feature a 105 lb title rematch between Pedro Taduran (17-4-1, 13 KO) and Ginjiro Shigeoka (11-1, 9 KO). Taduran upset Shigeoka via ninth round TKO last July, and neither man has fought since then.
