‘Whole show was trash’: Tim Bradley sounds off on all fighters from Garcia vs Romero card
Tim Bradley says every fight on the Garcia vs Romero card was terrible.
After Friday’s disastrous showing in terms of boxing and entertainment, Tim Bradley sounds off on a lengthy rant about how awful all the fighters were on the Ryan Garcia vs Rolando Romero card. Bradley would specifically flame Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, Arnold Barboza, and even Teofimo Lopez didn’t escape criticism.
Bradley would also insinuate that Turki Alalshikh is at fault for spoiling fighters with massive paydays that their performances or merits just simply don’t justify, although he didn’t want to specifically name him. Check out some excerpts of what Bradley had to say below.
“Underwhelmed,” Bradley said of the Garcia vs Romero card. “I was pissed off after watching that. And if I was pissed off I know all the fans are pissed off, too...I felt like I was insulted last night after watching that. I felt I was insulted. I was disappointed in each guy’s performance. I was so disappointed. I thought all of ‘em was wack, all of ‘em, every last one of ‘em.
“I didn’t see no hunger in these dudes, man. No hunger, only there for the money. That’s the biggest problem with today’s boxing...All these guys, everybody looking to line up to get that big paycheck, that’s it. They not looking to add to the sport, they not looking o add to any kind of legacy.
“Barboza, what the f—k? Are you kidding me, bro? You been waiting 12 years for this fight, you’ve been calling for this fight 12 years and you put up that type of performance? Like, are you kidding me? Come on, man. That’s shameful, bro.
“Ryan Garcia, same thing. Ryan Garcia ain’t no true fighter. He’s not no true fighter at all...Haney put on a shit show, Ryan put on a shit show as well, but Haney was supposed to be going back to the drawing board, getting better. Did you think he got better? Absolutely not...I didn’t see any improvement in Ryan, I didn’t see any improvement in Haney whatsoever.
“Ryan Garcia don’t want to be a fighter, all Ryan Garcia want is the money. That’s it...He didn’t want the Devin fight, he didn’t want to revisit that. Devin, yesterday almost felt like he didn’t want the fight either with Ryan Garcia, the way he was fighting, how scared he was. PTSD is a real thing in boxing. It’s a real thing, and that’s what I saw with Devin, watching him run around the ring. I was like ‘damn, did he train with Usain Bolt? Who the hell he train with?’ I said he running around this ring like he crazy. I’m like ‘settle your feet down man and grow some balls.’
“I was so angry after watching that, I waste my time watching that last night. Waste of my time! And Teofimo Lopez, okay, he did his thing. He did his thing but, Teo, you could’ve stopped buddy. Buddy was scared of you, bro. You could’ve stepped on the gas a little bit more but you want to play it safe, too.
“Everybody — that whole show was trash. All the fighters on there, they don’t have the passion, bro. They don’t have the desires, at all. Everybody is spoiled nowadays...Fighters are wack, straight up wack. All of ‘em. Straight trash. Wack. That was horrible to watch yesterday. I was so angry, man. And you can see I’m still angry about it.
“That wasn’t a boxing event last night. That was ‘entertainment.’ That was the only thing that was attached to that, but no boxing event. That was no real boxing event. Who the f—k shows up in a car, bro?! Who? Who does that, bro?
“It was a flex. That was a flex in New York’s face, bro...’Look what we can do.’ It wasn’t about the fighters. The fighters were pawns...you don’t know the real agenda but at the end of the day I’ll just say this, man. I never want to see something like this ever again.”
