Justis Huni replaces Jarrell Miller, will face Fabio Wardley
Justis Huni has stepped in and will face Fabio Wardley on June 7.
Justis Huni has stepped up on short notice to replace the injured Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller and will face Fabio Wardley on Saturday, June 7 at Portman Road.
Wardley and Huni will be fighting for the interim WBA heavyweight title, which definitely is something that needs to exist, what with there already being a WBA “super world” champion and WBA “world” champion.
The fight, though, is a pretty good one, especially given it comes with a month’s notice. It’s a huge chance for Australia’s Huni (12-0, 7 KO), taking his shot against the rising star Wardley (18-0-1, 17 KO), who preserves the chance for a big fight at home in Ipswich.
Huni most recently fought on January 8, stopping Shaun Potgieter in the second round in Broadbeach. Wardley hasn’t fought since last October, when he blitzed Frazer Clarke in the opening round of their rematch, following a draw last March.
There’s still no announced undercard for the Queensberry Promotions show, which will air on DAZN.
