Jarrell Miller injured, out of fight with Fabio Wardley
Queensberry expect to name Fabio Wardley’s new opponent in the next two days.
Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller has sustained a shoulder injury in training camp, and he will not be facing Fabio Wardley on June 7 as planned.
Queensberry Promotions say they “expect to have a replacement opponent announced within the next 48 hours.”
The 36-year-old Miller (26-1-2, 22 KO) has been one of boxing’s most controversial figures during his career, and is 0-1-1 in his last two fights, which apparently earns someone a chance to fight for a secondary WBA world title.
But he won’t get that chance in June. Wardley (18-0-1, 17 KO) will fight on against someone else at Portman Road.
The WBA’s top 10 currently sees Wardley at No. 1, with Michael Hunter, Moses Itauma, Miller, and Lenier Pero rounding out the top five, and Martin Bakole, Filip Hrgovic, Mahmoud Charr, Murat Gassiev, and Johnny Fisher filling out the remainder of the top 10.
