Derek Chisora aims to land an IBF title fight with Daniel Dubois before retiring from boxing.

Now that Derek Chisora has formally been named mandatory title challenger for Daniel Dubois’ IBF heavyweight title, Chisora admits to Sky Sports that he really hoping to nail that fight down for what he admits will be the last fight of his career.

Chisora has made quite a career for himself despite never having become a world champion, but this opportunity to make that dream a reality at the very tail end of his career is too much tempting to to let pass by.

“We’ll see what happens, but I want that shot since the IBF made me mandatory for it. I want it, there’s no two ways about it. I want it badly. I want to fight Daniel. It’s a good story, because behind the whole thing is he’s trained by my old trainer. It’s a very exciting fight, and I just want that shot now.”

At age 41 Chisora makes it known that he’ll be retiring at the end of this year no matter happens, whether he becomes champion or even manages to gets the Dubois fight at all — which he’s willing to wait for. For now he’ll just have to wait and see whether a unification fight materializes between Dubois and Usyk, who has his own mandatory to satisfy.
