Dirty Boxing video: Yoel Romero obliterates Ras Hylton for late knockout in main event
Yoel Romero got the stoppage win in the main event of Dirty Boxing 1, and did so with less than 30 seconds to go.
The multi-time UFC title challenger faced Bellator veteran Ras Hylton in the main event of Saturday night’s fight card in Miami. After winning the first two round on points, Romero put Hylton away with a vicious combination towards the end of the fight.
Check out the finish below.
As most of Romero’s MMA bouts typically go, the fight began at a slow pace with Romero looking to counter his much taller opponent. Hylton used his big frame to stay at range, peppering out a jab and fighting intelligently. Romero did find a big left hand towards the tail end of the round, but Hylton was able to land a combination in return.
The second round was more of the same, Romero landing shots here and there, mixing in some body work. Hylton would land some grazing shots, but nothing totally impactful as the action was pretty slow through the first six minutes of boxing.
Romero came out much more aggressively in the third landing hard punches and elbows. Hylton couldn’t keep up with the athleticism of Romero, who landed a clean left hand on Hylton about halfway through the stanza. Hylton answered back with a straight combination, and ate a pair of body shots for his troubles. Romero lands the big shot to finish the fight with 34 seconds to go.
With the win, Romero is now 2-0 with two knockouts in the promotion.
