Sebastian Fundora defends his junior middleweight titles, George Kambosos moves up to 140 lbs., and more!

Saturday, Mar. 22

DAZN, 4:00 am ET, George Kambosos vs Daud Yordan. THE BOXING IS BACK! THE BOXING IS BACK!!! Pride of two nations and hero of all humanity Yorgos Kambosos returns to action, now at 140 lbs. Will he conquer yet another weight class the same way he conquered the hearts of the Hellenic diaspora? Maybe! And, even though Kambosos alone is worth every dollar of a $100 PPV, you’ll get him AND a pretty solid Aussie/Kiwi undercard for not a penny more than the price of your regular DAZN subscription! Skye Nicolson defends against Tiara “The Dark Menace” Brown, Cherneka Johnson fights Nina Hughes, delightful heavyweight/stabbing victim/Close, Personal Friend Hemi Ahio keeps busy against Aekkaphob Auraiwan (yes, I DID cut and paste that name!), and Olympic sensation Teremoana Teremoana will blast out a fighter to be named later. BLH will have live updates (and, don’t worry: it’s Scott and not me)

Fightzone (UK), 10:00 am ET(?), Promoters Colliding: Repeat or Revenge. I’m annoyed with this show, because nobody put an actual start time on any of their social media promotions or artwork. I’m guessing it’s a 3 pm local time start for the prelims given that the O2 Arena website says the doors open at 2:30. Nobody fighting here has faced their scheduled opponent before, so not sure who exactly is Repeating or Revenging.

DAZN, 6:00 pm ET, Overtime Boxing. OTX was consistently an Atlanta affair, but this event comes to us from a casino near San Diego. Maliek “Mayhem” Montgomery vs Jeremy Hill is the main event. Kurt Scoby also appears in support in an eight rounder.

ProBox, 6:00 pm ET, Lester Martinez vs Joeshon James. This is a cursed fight. It was originally set for September 11th, 2024, then rescheduled for February 8th, and now it’s supposed to happen Saturday night in San Bernardino, California. Jessie Magdaleno vs Luis Coria is on the BoxRec listing, but not the promotional artwork for the live stream.

YouTube/Facebook/etc., 6:00 pm ET, Dirty Boxing: DBX1. Something new, with some ex-ProBox people involved. It’s a boxing/MMA hybrid, with three minute rounds but four ounce gloves, elbow strikes and pounding on a downed opponent are legal. No idea how well the defining “unique rule set” will distinguish this promotion, but it does have some real juice behind it. Ben Davis and Chris Algieri did commentary for a soft launch demo show they produced late last year, with Jim Sorensen handling ring announcer duties. Probably won’t get Algieri and Sorensen again, with ProBox running live simultaneously. But, the demo show on their YouTube page has a very cinematic look and well executed underground fight aesthetic, and this weekend’s event comes to us from the guys who originally made ProBox an outstanding viewing experience. Rich Gaughan (former Showtime/SHOBox/Stikeforce/Glory Kickboxing producer) and Rick Tugman (of a BLH Explainer interview that outlines his pro history) are among the behind-the-scenes people bringing it to life. I don’t see a Roku channel, but the PR lady tells me it’ll be on YouTube, Kick, Rumble, X, Twitch, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook if you’re interested.

DAZN, 7:00 pm ET, Boxing Insider. Vlad Panin vs Brian Arregui headlines. The supporting fights are all six or four rounders. Not listed on DAZN as of posting time, but actively promoted as airing there, and it’ll likely pop up as the week progresses.

Amazon Prime, 8:00 pm ET, Sebastian Fundora vs Chordale Booker. I think this one is free, but there’s no show listing confirming it officially. We’re five and a half days away from the fight, it’s still not listed on Amazon, and the “Watch on Prime Video” link from PBC’s website takes you to Tank vs Lamont Roach instead. Just an excellent partnership, firing on all cylinders. Fundora holds the WBC and WBO 154 lbs. belts he won on short notice in exceptionally bloody fashion against Tim Tszyu last March. Booker got blasted in the first round by Ammo Williams on the first Taylor-Serrano undercard. He’s 6-0 since then, with five of those wins coming at a casino less than an hour and a half from his hometown of Stamford, Connecticut, and the sixth in the Dominican Republic. Jesus Ramos vs Guido Schramm and Elijah Garcia vs Terrell Gausha headline the undercard. BLH will have live updates
