Cracked him! Chris Eubank Jr. blasts Conor Benn with egg during faceoff
Conor Benn had egg on his face – quite literally – Tuesday thanks to Chris Eubank Jr..
Following a news conference at Manchester Central Auditorium in Manchester, England, Benn and Eubank partook in a ceremonial faceoff. With no shortage of bad blood between the two, things boiled over when Eubank surprisingly slapped an egg on the right side of Benn’s face.
The sneaky and physical maneuver sent Benn into an irate rampage as security restrained him from getting at Eubank.
Tuesday’s news conference was the first of two scheduled press stops for the bitter rivals ahead of their April 26 boxing match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, which will host a second news conference Thursday.
The hatred has built for over two years between the two second-generation boxers, whose fathers, Chis Eubank and Nigel Benn, fought each other 35 years ago.
Eubank Jr. and Benn were scheduled to fight in October 2022. However, a failed drug test submitted by Benn nixed the bout. The drug test sparked controversy due to the inconsistencies in rulings by various anti-doping bodies.
