Silva on the fight’s key moment
“Nothing surprised me because I work with a team and have coaches that map things out. They study and map everything out of my opponents. I come into these fights with another type of work put in, which is the emotional side of it, understanding the emotions that my opponents don’t. So nothing surprised me there. I knew that certain emotions that he brought open a path for me.”
Silva on talking to the UFC brass after his win
“I didn’t ask for anything. I just thanked them because I am living inside of this dream. My dream is to be here talking to you guys. This is a dream, and I’m going to continue living this dream of my real life.”
Silva on what he wants next
“I think that Bryce Mitchell is somebody who would (lead to) a very good renewed contract if I beat him. Also, he’s a guy who fought Ilia and took him to the brink. It was toward the end the round. He’s a tough opponent that can be dangerous.
“As far as everything else (that Mitchell said recently), I think there are things that you can’t tolerate, especially when you’re a public persona and you say them out loud.”
