The first numbered UFC event of 2025 proved to be a memorable one with UFC 311 on Saturday at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif., delivering the goods.
Despite a slow set of prelims, the main card delivered in all ways, and ended with both champions successfully defending their titles. In the headliner, Islam Makhachev (27-1 MMA, 16-1 UFC) submitted Renato Moicano (20-6-1 MMA, 12-6 UFC) in the first round to retain lightweight gold, while the co-main event saw bantamweight champ Merab Dvalishvili (19-4 MMA, 12-2 UFC) hand Umar Nurmagomedov (18-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) his first career loss in a unanimous decision.
