Delgado vs Rodriguez eyed for Mar. 15

Super lightweight action men Lindolfo Delgado and Elvis Rodriguez reportedly have a date for this coming March

Top Rank has an absolute banger in the works, as Fernando Barbosa reports that undefeated Lindolfo Delgado will battle fellow super lightweight contender Elvis Rodriguez this coming March.

Carlos Linares claims it’ll land on the 15th, the date originally set aside for Teofimo Lopez vs Subriel Matias before that went up in smoke. Janibek Alimkhanuly battles TBA in the main event.

Delgado (22-0, 16 KO) has had a start-and-stop pro career since his one-and-done stint at Rio 2016. A 2022 shootout against Omar Aguilar seemed like his entry onto the world scene, but it took him another two years to claim another noteworthy scalp when he edged out Bryan Flores last August.

He figures to have his hands full against Rodriguez (17-1-1, 13 KO), who’s a cool 6-0 since a shock loss to Kenneth Sims Jr prompted Top Rank to cut bait. He has a very real chance to make them regret this decision.
