CONOR MCGREGOR has been warned his biggest weakness could come back to haunt him if he boxes Logan Paul.

The UFC superstar revealed this week that he’s in talks to take on the YouTube sensation in a boxing match in India next year.

SunSport understands preliminary discussions have indeed taken place over the shock crossover clash.

McGregor, 36, suffered a tenth-round TKO defeat to Floyd Mayweather Jr after succumbing to fatigue in his boxing debut in August 2017.

The Irishman has beefed up considerably since that fateful night at the T-Mobile Arena, so much so that ESPN pundit Stephen A Smith believes fatigue will rear its ugly head again if he faces Paul.

During a recent episode of ESPN’s ‘First Take, he said: “Those big muscles are going to make you a bit slower.

“And you’ve got to remember that Conor had quickness, he could catch you quick and clip you.

“That’s not going to be the case in the boxing ring.”

Social media sensation and WWE star Paul has boxed four times, drawing and losing to rival KSI, going the distance with Mayweather and getting the better of BJJ whizz Dillon Danis.

The 29-year-old doesn’t have anywhere near the same combat experience as McGregor, but that isn’t stopping Smith from picking him to get the better of ‘The Notorious’.

He said: “I think Logan Paul is going to beat him.

“I don’t think that Conor McGregor is a boxer; he’s a striker.

“So, he’s sitting up there, and he ain’t even throwing his jab.

“He’s pitter-pattering. You ain’t clipping Logan Paul like that. You’ve got to do more than that.

“We don’t know yet (which size gloves they’re using), but it doesn’t matter.

“Unless it’s pillows like 16 or 18 ounces, it ain’t going to work.

“I just think that Logan Paul is bigger, he’s a much bigger man, he’s a more experienced boxer.”

McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his left leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier over three-and-a-half years ago.

If and when he does fight, it will be his first outing since being found civilly liable to have assaulted Nikita Hand at a Dublin Hotel in December 2018.

The UFC’s poster boy has vowed to appeal the verdict returned at Dublin’s High Court last month.
