Nakajima Vs Tatsuyoshi set for December 12th!

0 0
Back in August we saw OPBF Super Bantamweight champion Kazuki Nakajima (16-2-1, 13) [中嶋一輝] defeat former world title challenger Shingo Wake (31-9-2, 22) [和氣慎吾] with arguably a career best performance. Following that win the unbeaten Juiki Tatsuyoshi (16-0-1, 10) [辰吉寿以輝] was revealed to be Nakajima’s next challenger, though at the time there was no date or venue for the bout.

Today Hideyuki Ohashi announced the details regarding that bout, and the other top bouts on "Lemino BOXING Phoenix Battle 126", which will take place on December 12th at Korakuen Hall.

The bout will be Nakajima’s second defense of the title, and follows previous reigns as the OPBF Bantamweight and WBO Asia Pacific Super Bantamweight  champion, with this being his 7th career title bout. As for Tatsuyoshi, the son of former world champion Joichiro Tatsuyoshi, the bout will be his maiden title fight, and is seen as a notable step up in class, with the 28 year old having been somewhat protected since his 2015 debut.

Also set for the card are two other title fights. The show's chief support bout will see Japanese Welterweight champion David Ssemujju (6-1, 4) make his first defense as he takes on former interim champion Takeru Kobata (14-6-1, 6) [小畑武尊], who came up short in a 2022 bout for the full title against Keita Obara. The other title bout will see unbeaten 23 year old Yusei Yamazaki (4-0, 4) [山﨑裕生] and 19 year old Ryota Muto (6-1-1, 4) [武藤涼太], who face off for the vacant Japanese Youth Super Bantamweight title.

One other bout of note is the second professional bout of hotly tipped 22 year old prospect Shogo Tanaka (1-0) [田中将吾] who takes on 19 year old Thai Natsaphon Manonom (3-1, 3), with Tanaka looking to build on a hard fought debut win over Ryunosuke Takaguma whilst the Thai makes his international debut.
