Teofimo Lopez says he’ll have tons of options after beating Steve Claggett, despite also saying he’s being highly avoided.

Teofimo Lopez spent some time talking to boxing media about his upcoming fight against Steve Claggett this week and where he’s looking to take his career with his desire to stay as active as possible. Lopez says he’s avoided by other top fighters, but will continue to build his own momentum going forward.

Lopez on what statement he’s looking to make against Steve Claggett

“For Claggett I’m looking forwards to making a true statement for the fact that I have everything that is needed. I have everything that’s needed to win as a true champion. Doesn’t matter who they put in front of me, we’re always going to get the job done, however we need good dance partners and Saturday night we’re actually going to have a tough, rugged fighter of Steve Claggett, a guy that’s 15 years professionally in the game and definitely knows how to slow down these fighters and slow down their pace to fight his style.”

On who he wants to fight after he gets past Claggett

“You can expect a lot of things. People are going to put my name around a lot of places. That’s the thing, it’s all about productivity, and that’s the thing a lot of people were complaining to me about. But then I go and fight fighters like Steve Claggett and then they complain about that so...everyone’s always complaining about something.

“As long as we stay active and fight four times this year, that’s my goal. Three times, that’s what Top Rank could afford to give me and we’ll look forward to seeing if we get more fights after this.”

On who he thinks wins a Gervonta Davis vs Vasiliy Lomachenko fight

“I believe that Tank will be nervous going into the fight. Loma will show his skill sets, Tank will try to walk him down. Loma needs to go for the body, Tank will try to hurt him, head hunting, throwing his favorite shot he likes to throw which is his left hand.

“However I just feel like if it goes the distance, Tank wins. Stoppage — I love Loma, man, he was a tough fighter when I faced him, I’ll say that. However I just feel like he’s not as the same as he once were. But the punch count that Tank showed in Frank Martin, he was losing every round, he was just waiting for that one big shot. If he fights like that then Loma wins.”
