Yoshida and Ozawa make weight for WBO title fight

0 55
Tomorrow at Korakuen Hall fight fans will be able to see WBO female Super Flyweight champion Miyo Yoshida (15-2) [吉田実代] take on Tamao Ozawa (16-5, 6) [小澤瑶生], with Yoshida looking to record her first defense of her second reign with the title. Today, ahead of their bout, the two women took part in their weigh in for the bout,

At the weigh in both fighters made weigh for the bout with no issues at all.

On the scales Yoshida came in on the limit, at and looked in great shape, whilst also looking full of confidence and self belief. In fact she almost seemed happy at the weigh in, despite obviously needing to cut down in weight for the bout. After making weight she declared that she will win not matter how the bout is fought. She seemed incredibly self assured, and the feeling is that she has trained really hard on not just winning here, but on looking good in victory.

It's worth noting the bout will be streamed live on Yoshida's Youtube channel and it's clear she wants to use the opportunity to build her profile and her name in the sport.

Ozawa on the other hand came in well under the limit, in fact she was 114lbs on the scales, a full 1lb under the limit. She has had a baby since she last fought and despite the birth of her child she seemed determined to make the most of this opportunity, which she was offered late last year. Like Yoshida she seemed confidence and notably had been training with Tomoko Okuda, who has twice faced Yoshida.

For those wanting to watch Miyo Yoshida's YouTube is supposed to have the bout streamed live on it.
