UFC 266 fight week time!

We’ve got ourselves not one but two title fights on Saturday, September 25th. In the main event, men’s featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski defends his title against Brian Ortega, who’s fighting for the belt for the second time in his career after a previous loss to Max Holloway. The co-main event is women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko against Lauren Murphy, at long last getting her first ever UFC title opportunity.

For many, the real main event is the return of Nick Diaz after six years away from the Octagon. He’ll rematch former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler, whom he knocked out way back in 2004. This will be a five-round non-title bout.

As usual, when it’s a pay-per-view week it gets the Countdown treatment. You can watch the full Countdown to UFC 266 video at the top of the page. You’ll get Volkanovski-Ortega, Shevchenko-Murphy, and Diaz-Lawler. It’s not often a non-title fight gets a longer segment than the two title bouts, but that’s the power of the Diaz brothers.

UFC 266 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with the usual main card start time of 10 PM ET/7 PM PT.
