“I think it will happen. Look, I mean, I’m the money fight for Conor McGregor right now”.

Jake Paul is in talks over a potential ‘money fight’ against UFC superstar Conor McGregor, the YouTube celebrity revealed in a recent interview with The Heard (h/t Sport Bible).

Paul, 24, claims he’s in touch with McGregor’s team and is adamant that he is the biggest name currently available for ‘The Notorious’.

“I think it will happen. Look, I mean, I’m the money fight for Conor McGregor right now,” Paul, who spent $100,000 on a custom ‘sleepy McGregor’ necklace, said on Friday . “There is no other fighter right now who is on a bigger level than me that is calling out Conor McGregor and wants to fight Conor”.

“Our team is in touch with his team and there’s talks of it actually happening. And people at first thought I was just joking when I said I wanted to fight him. But now it’s as real as it gets, it’s more real than ever and by the way, if we do fight, I’m going to knock him out.”

Paul might have his sights set on McGregor, but the social media influencer currently has his hands full with former UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley. Paul will look to improve his pro boxing record to 4-0 when he takes on ‘T-Wood’ at a SHOWTIME Sports event on Aug. 29 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

McGregor, on the other hand, is recovering from injury. The Irishman broke his leg during an awkward stand-up exchange in the first round of his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, losing via first-round TKO (doctor’s stoppage). He underwent successful surgery earlier this month and, to the delight of his fans, is already back at it in the gym.
