The Top Rank promoter gives some insight as to when he’s planning to resume his shows.

With it appearing like social distancing practices will start to ease in the near future and as businesses look to resume their operations, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum talks to Joe Tessitore about when he’s looking to resume his boxing cards. To that end Arum is currently targeting a summer return to action, although he’ll look to begin by staging cards without fans in the stands, with extensive testing for all personnel.

At that point, and without any further complications, Arum says he hopes to put on two or three boxing events per week (of varying notoriety), but suggests all cards will feature good fights and will have ESPN veterans in appearance.

Of course a couple of Arum’s biggest fighters, Vasiliy Lomachenko and Tyson Fury, are both from abroad, and travel restrictions could prevent them from easily coming to the United States for fights. And for Fury specifically, a prospective third fight against Wilder would have to happen with a live gate in order to make it financially viable. Therefore how things unfold from here will make a huge impact on when and where Wilder-Fury III can come off.

We’ll keep you posted as things develop.
