"Srisaket II" gets opponent named for August bout!

0 4
Last week we reported that Thai teenage prospect Thanongsak Simsri (9-0, 9) [ทนงศักดิ์ สิมศรี], aka "Srisaket II" would be fighting for the first time as a Green Tsuda fighter on the August 4th "Crash Boxing volume 18" show at the EDION Arena Osaka, in Osaka city.

Today we saw news break from Thailand that his opponent for that bout will be Indonesian journeyman
Melianus Mirin (10-5, 6).

On paper this looks like an easy 10th win for Simsri, especially if he's as good as he's being hyped by Thai fans, however there is a chance his perfect KO run could come to an end. Although Mirin has has been beat 5 times so far He hasn't yet been stopped, going the distance in defeats to the likes of Tiba Monabesa, Satanmuanglek CP Freshmart and Panya Pradabsri. That would mean a stoppage for Simsri would be very impressive, and a real statement, especially given how Satanmuanglek has recently fought for a world title.

Although the Thai teenage isn't well known in the west there is a growing buzz about him in Thailand, and with Green Tsuda behind him there is also a clear buzz in Japan about the talented, hard hitting and exciting youngster.
