UFC fighter rankings: Figueiredo soars at flyweight

0 9

UFC Lincoln didn’t cause too much a ripple in the rankings.

The UFC’s trip to Lincoln certainly provided some fireworks, but a lot of the action wasn’t all that relevant from a rankings standpoint. Main event winner Justin Gaethje didn’t move at all due to beating a lower-ranked opponent. The co-main event fighters weren’t ranked. In fact, the biggest (and only major) change came in the 125-pound division when Deiveson Figueiredo stopped John Moraga.

Here’s a look at the (few) changes this week:

P4P - No changes.

Heavyweight - No changes.

Light Heavyweight - No changes.

Middleweight - No changes.

Welterweight - Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos makes his rankings debut at 15.

Lightweight - Vick’s quick knockout loss to Gaethje saw him fall two spots from ten to 12. This bumped Nate Diaz up one spot to ten and Michael Chiesa up one to 11.

Featherweight - No changes.

Bantamweight - Rani Yayha’s UFC Lincoln win allowed him to crack the 135-pound rankings at 15.

Flyweight - Figueiredo’s dominant win over Moraga sent him rocketing up the flyweight rankings, moving eight spots from 14 to six. Moraga dropped one to seven. Wilson Reis, Alexandre Pantoja, Dustin Ortiz, Brandon Moreno, and Ben Nguyen all fell one spot to 8-12 respectively. Matheus Nicolau dropped two spots to 14.

Women’s Bantamweight - No changes.

Women’s Flyweight - Liz Carmouche dropped from a tie for five down to six on her own. Jessica-Rose Clark and Ashley Evans-Smith are up one each to nine and ten respectively. Joanne Calderwood enters the 125-pound rankings at 11 with her win in Lincoln. Mara Romero Borella is up one to 12. Andrea Lee is down one to 13. Paige VanZant is up one to 14. Jennifer Maia is back in the rankings at 15.

Women’s Strawweight - Cortney Casey moved up one spot to ten with her win over Angela Hill. Nina Ansaroff dropped one to 11. Mackenzie Dern re-enters the rankings at 15.
