Two Philly natives head to Atlantic City on August 18.

Top Rank Boxing on ESPN will have a doubleheader on August 18 from Atlantic City, featuring Philadelphia natives Bryant Jennings and Jesse Hart in separate bouts.

Jennings (23-2, 13 KO) will take on fellow veteran Alexander Dimitrenko (41-3, 26 KO) in the 12-round heavyweight main event. The 33-year-old Jennings is on a four-fight winning streak since back-to-back losses to Wladimir Klitschko and Luis Ortiz in 2015. He took all of 2016 off and went 2-0 in 2017, and is 2-0 so far this year.

Most recently, Jennings beat Joey Dawejko in an all-Philly showdown on April 28.

Dimitrenko, 35, has won three straight easy fights since losing to Joseph Parker in 2016. His other losses came to Eddie Chambers way back in 2009, and to Kubrat Pulev in 2011. He’s struggled in steps up.

Super middleweight contender Hart (24-1, 20 KO) will face Mike Gavronski (24-2-1, 15 KO) in the 10-round co-feature. Hart, 29, suffered a hard-fought loss to Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez in a world title shot last September, and has won two straight since, last fighting on April 28 with a win over Demond Nicholson in a fun fight.

Gavronski, 32, isn’t really a big challenge for Hart on paper. The 32-year-old has mostly fought at the club level, inflating his record without a lot of serious competition. He lost to Tureano Johnson in 2014 and veteran Dashon Johnson in 2015. He’s won four in a row, but his last fight was a no-contest in November 2017.
