UFC 223 Embedded, part 4: The calm before the storm

0

Check out the fourth episode of Embedded for UFC 223.

UFC 223 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the fourth episode for this weekend’s big show in Brooklyn, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the newly-designed card.

Again.

Basically, this is old news. All of this happened under the premise that Conor McGregor didn’t attack a bus full of fighters and that Max Holloway was actually going to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov. As you probably know by now, Max was deemed “medically unfit to fight” and has been replaced by...Al Iaquinta. Yeah. But we’re just gonna act like that isn’t a thing, and discuss what went on in this episode.

To be honest, the next episode will probably be amazing. This one though? Not so much.

Khabib runs on a treadmill while watching old boxing fights. He’s a boxing historian apparently. Holloway’s coach talks about training year-round and being ready for short-notice fights. Yeah, about that...

Joanna Jedrzejczyk shows off her weight-cut breakfast. She says she learned English from the Cartoon Network. That’s pretty funny. Rose Namajunas does a photo shoot. Max signs some now-useless poster and talks about winning a second belt.

Hey look, it’s Michael Chiesa. He’s not fighting either now. He’s playing video games and joking around.

Khabib has a big crowd waiting for him when he shows up for the press conference. Khabib and Holloway respectfully prop themselves up. Khabib then takes some questions from the crowd. The episode closes with Khabib holding a UFC belt.

That’s it. See you for the next episode, probably starring four or five guys that won’t fight on the card.
