UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor is currently in a New York court on multiple charges of misdemeanor assault, as well as one count of felony mischief after he and his entourage were caught on film attacking a bus filled with fighters scheduled to compete at UFC 223. Three fights were canceled as a result of this incident: Artem Lobov vs. Alex Caceres (due to Lobov’s involvement in the attack), Ray Borg vs. Brandon Moreno (Borg suffered eye injury), and Michael Chiesa vs. Anthony Pettis (Chiesa suffered facial cuts and wasn’t cleared for competition).

McGregor turned himself in to local authorities on Thursday night, hours after the shocking and wild incident took places at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It is believed that McGregor was retaliating against Khabib Nurmagomedov, who got into a confrontation with Lobov, a teammate and good friend of McGregor’s, earlier in the week. Khabib was not hurt in the attack and will fight as scheduled on Saturday.
