UFC fighter rankings: Stephens, Latifi crack top five

Jeremy Stephens and Ilir Latifi put themselves “in the mix” with wins at UFC Orlando.

The UFC decided to put on the most irrelevant Fox card ever, so it shouldn’t shock you that rankings weren’t rocked to their core by the crazy results. Granted, the action from the show was good, but there wasn’t a ton of intrigue going in or coming out.

But with that said, two of the winners - Jeremy Stephens and Ilir Latifi - did crack the top five in their respective divisions, so I guess that’s something. Even if one of the divisions is light heavyweight.

Without further ado, here’s a look at all the changes in this week’s version of the UFC rankings.

P4P - No changes.

Heavyweight - No changes.

Light Heavyweight - Latifi is up three to five after stopping Ovince Saint Preux. OSP dropped one to six, with Shogun Rua and Misha Cirkunov also dropping one to seven and eight respectively.

Middleweight - No changes.

Welterweight - Neil Magny dropped from a tie for eight to having nine on his own.

Lightweight - No changes.

Featherweight - Emmett’s loss drops him two to six. That allows Cub Swanson to regain the four spot, with Stephens moving up three spots to five. Ricardo Lamas and Chan Sung Jung both dropped a spot as well, to seven and eight. Calvin Kattar is up one to 14, dropping Myles Jury to 15.

Bantamweight - Brett Johns moved up one to 13, with the inactive Eddie Wineland dropping to 14. Brian Kelleher enters the rankings for the first time at 15 after beating Renan Barao.

Flyweight - No changes.

Women’s Bantamweight - Raquel Pennington moved up one spot to the two position, undoubtedly due to her title fight getting announced. That dropped Julianna Pena to three. Marion Reneau only moved up one spot with her big victory over Sara McMann. She’s at seven, dropping McMann to eight. Bethe Correia is up into a tie for nine with Leslie Smith. Ronda Rousey dropped two spots to 11 (how is she even eligible to rank anymore?).

Women’s Flyweight - No changes.

Women’s Strawweight - Tatiana Suarez moved up one to 14. Nina Ansaroff entered the rankings at 15.
