My Fight: Daniel Jacobs (Preview)

HBO’s full installment of this feature will air this Saturday following Boxing After Dark.

Ahead of his Nov. 11th fight against Luis Arias on HBO, Daniel Jacobs is featured in this promotional video where he discusses the fight of his life — and no, it wasn’t against Gennady Golovkin. Jacobs’ story as a cancer survivor is one which has been discussed before, but he’ll let you know that it’s one that he still draws strength from.

“I am never going to get tired of telling my story. It’s those types of stories that get you inspired about sports, boxing, and life.

“I was completely paralyzed. I had to find out the hard way that it was cancer. When the doctor said ‘you can’t box again’ I would say ‘who is he?!’ or ‘what do they know?!’ I can’t believe all that I’ve been through just to get to this point, and I know that it has helped me to be who I am today.”

You can check out a preview of the HBO Sports special above, with the full special airing after this Saturday night starting following Boxing After Dark. Jacobs will then take on Arias the following Saturday on HBO World Championship Boxing.
