UFC Gdansk in Tweets: Pros react to Darren Till knocking out Donald Cerrone
All week long Darren Till said that he’s the best fighter in the world, and on Saturday Oct. 21 at UFC Gdansk, the undefeated welterweight looked like it, mowing through sixth-ranked welterweight Donald Cerrone in short order.
Till came out pressuring Cerrone early, using his sharp boxing game to keep the former lightweight title challenger on the back foot. With roughly a minute left in the round, Till rocked Cerrone with a clean one-two that back him up to the cage and had Cerrone covering up. From there it was formulaic as Till poured on the punches until Marc Goddard jumped in, saving Cerrone and announcing Till as the newest thing in the welterweight division.
That wasn’t all for Till, though. After the fight was over, Till got into a heated exchange with another rising welterweight contender, Mike Perry who was seated cageside, potentially setting up an incredible fight in the future.
Check out the reaction from MMA pros to Darren Till’s star-making performance, Perry’s through-the-cage trash talk, and the rest of UFC Gdansk below.
