Welterweights Alex Oliveira and Yancy Medeiros will reportedly meet at UFC 218 in Detroit, on December 2.

A pair of exciting welterweight contestants has been added to upcoming UFC 218, in Detroit, Michigan, as Combate reported Alex Oliveira will slug it out against Yancy Medeiros. The night’s main card airs live on pay-per-view, with the preliminary card split up between FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Alex Oliveira (18-3-1(2)) is undefeated in his last five outings, with four wins and one No Contest. He gathered up wins over the likes of James Moontasri, Will Brooks, Tim Means and Ryan LaFlare. His last loss came in February 2016, when he was submitted by Donald Cerrone via triangle choke, in a fight Oliveira accepted on short notice.

On a two-fight winning streak in his recent move to welterweight, Yancy Medeiros (14-4(1)) picked up a couple of stoppage wins, submitting Sean Spencer at UFC 203 and then TKOing Erick Silva at UFC 212. His last loss came in May 2016, when Francisco Trinaldo bested him by unanimous decision.

UFC 218 will feature a featherweight championship main event between current titleholder Max Holloway and former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar. Heavyweights Alistair Overeem and Francis Ngannou are confirmed as the event’s co-headliners.
