Ortiz: Wilder should sign his death sentence

0

Luis Ortiz offers an ominous threat directed at Deontay Wilder as the two get ready to square off.

Heavyweight contender Luis “King Kong” Ortiz wasn’t able to attend the opening press conference for his fight against Deontay Wilder o Nov. 4, but that didn’t stop him from phoning in to give his thoughts on the fight.

“Wilder should sign his death sentence. I’m very different than anybody else that he’s fought. I punch harder than anybody else. I’m going to teach him not to mess with Cubans," said Ortiz.

After Ortiz continued by stating that he believes Wilder is doing a lot of talking out of nervousness, Ortiz suggests that he believes this fight is only happening because Wilder was backed into a corner. But that’s probably not completely accurate because Wilder could’ve made his mandatory defense against Bermane Stiverne instead, against a fighter he’s already defeated.

Then again, at least some out there expect this fight to be just as easy for Wilder, simply believe Ortiz, 38, is up there in years and hasn’t had great performances in his last couple of outings.

“Some skeptics are talking about my age, but look at Mayweather. I still have my speed and my quickness.”

Ortiz is most recently coming off a stoppage win over David Allen, but that was nearly a full year ago, and long periods of inactivity for an aging fighter can be tricky.

So tell me, fans, how many of you think this this will turn out to be a legitimately competitive fight?
