Jon Jones on Good Morning America: ‘My life gets to be a testimony for other people who are struggling’

0

The newly re-minted UFC light heavyweight champion stopped by daytime TV for a chat with former NFL star Michael Strahan.

The road back to the UFC title has been an arduous one for Jon Jones, even if most of his roadblocks have been self created. Jones lost his belt back in 2015, following his involvement in a hit-and-run collision. And while he regained a piece of the championship the following year, he soon found himself stripped again - this time the result of a failed drug test.

But, at UFC 214, on July 29th, Jones put on one of the best performances of his career, knocking out Daniel Cormier with a headkick and followup strikes after two back-and-forth rounds. That win, and the reportedly strong performance of the card’s PPV buys, have Jones back in the spotlight. Most recently, the undisputed champ was on Good Morning America to talk about his road back to the belt, his comments toward Daniel Cormier, and whether a fight with Brock Lesnar could be on the horizon.

With Lesnar likely sidelined for some time, who do you think Jones should face next?
