UFC Oklahoma City weigh-in results: Johny Hendricks can’t even make the middleweight limit

Former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks has now failed to make weight in two divisions.

I don’t even know what to say. Johny Hendricks has had a history of weight-cutting problems at welterweight, where he once held the UFC title, and now he can’t even make middleweight. At the UFC Oklahoma City official weigh-ins, Hendricks came in at 188 pounds, two pounds over the allowable limit for his co-main event vs. Tim Boetsch. It’s Hendricks’ second bout at middleweight, having made weight for his February win over Hector Lombard.

Hendricks notably missed weight on his first attempt (but made it on his re-try) against Robbie Lawler at UFC 171, was hospitalized due to kidney stones prior to his UFC 192 weigh-in vs. Tyron Woodley, and missed weight outright in consecutive fights vs. Kelvin Gastelum and Neil Magny, which prompted the move to 185. He now joins the likes of Anthony Johnson, John Lineker, and Charles Oliveira on the list of fighters who have come in heavy in two UFC divisions.

This post will be updated with Hendricks’ fine once the weigh-ins are complete. There are no ceremonial weigh-ins today.
