Lloyd Honeyghan, Lou Duva, Micky Duff, Johnny Bumphus, Wembley. What a night that was. Honeyghan will always be a special fighter to me. In the 1980s you could see him box regularly and, alongside Herol, Tyson and McGuigan, he was a key character in my formative years. His victory over Johnny Bumphus, his first after wrecking Don Curry, may have been The Ragamuffin at his peak.
A rewatch reminds how bestowed with great boxing characters the fight was. Duva, Duff and Benton.
The article wallows in that nostalgia on the 34th anniversary of the night in London.
