Friedrich pilots Germany to gold in Olympic four-man bobsled

Pyeongchang, South Korea (dpa) - Francesco Friedrich piloted Germany to gold in four-man bobsleigh at the Olympic Sliding Centre on Sunday, while his countryman Nico Walther tied with South Korea‘s Won Yun Jong for silver. Friedrich finished in a combined time of 3 minutes 15.85 seconds after the fourth and final heat, 0.53 seconds ahead of Walther and Won, for his second gold at the Games.The win means that Germany has won gold in all three bobsled events at the Pyeongchang Games, after winning the two-man - when Friedrich shared gold with the Canada - and the women‘s competition earlier this week.Germany also now holds the four-man competition record of six gold medals at all Olympic Winter Games, ahead of Switzerland with five golds. The win also put Germany top of the medals table with 14 golds with two medals events remaining on the last day of the Games.
