Steve Kerr ‘surprised’ Warriors favored vs. Cavaliers
Count Steve Kerr among those who aren’t sure why the Warriors are favored against the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. “They are the champions,” said Kerr, who filled in for acting head coach Mike Brown (flu) during the team’s post-practice media availability Monday. Kerr’s comments came two days after Cleveland power forward Kevin Love called the fact that the Cavaliers are being labeled underdogs “funny.” ESPN’s Basketball Power Index, which uses analytics to predict a team’s performance, gives Golden State a 93 percent chance of winning the Finals. In becoming the first team in NBA history to open a postseason 12-0, Golden State has won by an average of 16.3 points. The Cavaliers boast the top offensive rating, and the Warriors own the No. 1 defensive rating.
