Spurs fan filed a civil suit against Zaza Pachulia for injuring Kawhi Leonard

There’s mad. And then there’s lawsuit mad.

Coaches and players were heated in Game 1 after Zaza Pachulia’s foul on Kawhi Leonard forced the Spurs star to miss Game 2. Gregg Popovich called the move “unsportsmanlike” and “dangerous.” Fans were livid as well, and one in particular decided to take action. He’s taking legal action against Pachulia.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, Spurs fan Juan Vazquez filed a civil suit on Tuesday against Zaza and the Warriors on behalf of San Antonio season ticket holders. These are Vazquez’s demands:

Judgment against defendants for a sum within the jurisdictional limits of the court for all their actual and exemplary damages in a sum determined by the trier of fact but in no event greater than $73,000.00;

A temporary restraining order be issued without notice to defendants and that defendants and others named herein be restrained from engaging in the conduct described above; and

Such other and further relief to which plaintiffs may be justly entitled.

Vazquez claims that the injury will affect the price of home games. If Game 2 without Kawhi is any indication of how the rest of the series will turn out, fans will probably be less likely to buy tickets. It could be a blowout.
