Guo Ailun is the first Chinese basketball player signed to Jordan Brand
He signed a deal worth more than $1.4 million per year
Jordan Brand signed its first-ever Chinese Basketball Association player, Guo Ailun. The 24-year-old plays for Liaoning Flying Leopards.
The signing is part of the 20th anniversary of the brand entering the Chinese market, according to Sneaker News.

Yep, more than $1.4 million. Guo joins Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian as Chinese players with shoe deals, though he is the first to sign as a CBA player.
Jordan Brand released a video welcoming Guo to the family, with Michael Jordan providing the voiceover and a note of encouragement to Guo.
“Countless have dreamed of this. Represent them. Represent me. Represent yourself. Welcome to the family.”
