Would you still take Ingram over Jaylen Brown in last year's draft?
Luckily, last year we got the ping pong balls to fall our way and stay inside the top 3. Ben Simmons was my consensous number one prospect and followed by Ingram. I felt like Jaylen Brown was going to land with the Lakers if they had the #3 pick instead. The question is would I still take Ingram over Brown? In the first half of the season, Ingram was probably the biggest bust in NBA history. No NBA small forward drafted inside the top 5 with at least 30 minuttes a game averaged 8 points and 3 rebounds while shooting under 37% from the field and 28% from the three. I was questioning if we should have listened to the kings and give him up for Demarcus Cousins. Then, somehow Ingram after the All Star Break improved dramatically. He actually started to hit those midrange jumpers and find ways to creatively use his wingspan on drive in layups. Though he still can't shoot from the outside(29%), shoot free throws(62%-wow), rebound(only 3 per game for his length), and defend(too many fouls on closeouts and gives lots of backdoor cuts), his diverse arsenal of offensive moves does make him an enticing player going forward. From the times I saw Jaylen Brown, he seems like he would be a better player than Ingram. Though his weakness is shooting, his percentages are better than Ingram's and his on ball defense is pretty good for a rookie. If we drafted Brown, Brown would probably have way better stats and make a bigger impact on defense than Ingram. Removing your Laker Bias, would you still take Ingram or our rival's Jaylen Brown?
