Kobe Bryant has been breaking down film for Isaiah Thomas during the playoffs

Kobe has been watching a lot of Celtics games lately.

Kobe Bryant may have retired from the NBA, but he has not retired from the game of basketball. Now, he’s helping current stars on their game. During the season, Bryant helped out Utah Jazz forward Gordon Hayward with his mid-range game.

He has also helped out another star on his game, though this one may be more surprising given Kobe’s allegiance to the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to CSN’s A. Sherrod Blakley, Bryant has been working with Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas. They started working together in the playoffs, specifically ever since the Celtics were down to the Chicago Bulls 0-2 in the first round. Boston has yet to lose a game since. Thomas also scored 53 points, the most by any player in the playoffs since 2003, on Tuesday.

Celtics fans may initially question why a Laker — arguably the Laker — would help out a Boston Celtic, but the results should make them very happy.

This also explains why Kobe was watching film of Bulls-Celtics in the background while he recorded his daughter Gianna shooting a turnaround jumper that already looks very familiar.
