41 San Jacinto College student-athletes receive academic honors

PASADENA, Texas – This year San Jacinto College saw 41 student-athletes across six sports recognized for academic success.

“We believe our push to make our players academically accountable is paying off,” said Jeffrey Pearce, academic success coordinator on the San Jacinto College Central Campus. “We are seeing more student-athletes on the Dean’s List each semester and our overall team GPAs are climbing. The players have dedicated themselves to academic advancement and are graduating. They are prepared to take their San Jacinto College degree to the university level to complete their education.”

“Our team not only re-established the connection to advancing to the national tournament among the top 16 teams in the country, but it set the record on academic achievement,” said Sharon Nelson, head volleyball coach and athletic director on the San Jacinto College Central Campus. “Every freshman making the Dean’s List is a great accomplishment. We are proud of the standards we have set and that our players have represented the College in such a positive manner.”
