Michigan has landed 7-foot-2 Cincinnati transfer Moustapha Thiam, per reports. ESPN’s Shams Charania first reported Thiam’s commitment.
Thiam, a native of Senegal, averaged 12.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in his only season at Cincinnati this year.
Prior to his sophomore season at Cincinnati, Thiam spent his freshman year at UCF, appearing in 34 games for the Knights last season.
Fresh off its second national championship in program history, Michigan has now quickly built the top-ranked recruiting class in the country.
With the addition of Thiam, he’s Michigan’s ninth overall newcomer and officially makes the Wolverines the top-ranked recruiting class, according to 247Sports.
Michigan’s third transfer portal addition, he joins Tennessee transfer JP Estrella and LSU transfer Jalen Reed, to round out the Wolverines’ activity in this year’s portal so far.
