Seton Hall is hiring Virginia Tech general manager Nelson Hernandez as its next general manager, per release.
“We are thrilled to welcome Nelson Hernandez to Seton Hall,” said Director of Athletics Bryan Felt. “Nelson brings a forward-thinking approach, with deep relationships across the basketball landscape. As the role of General Manager continues to evolve in college athletics, we’re confident Nelson will be instrumental in supporting our student athletes and helping position our men’s basketball program for continued success.”
In addition to his time at Virginia Tech, Hernandez spent time as the director of player development at Oklahoma State (2023-24), assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Fresno State (2022-23), director of basketball operations at LSU (2017-22) and VCU (2016-17), director of player development at Wright State (2015-16) and video coordinator at Clemson (2014-15) and Utah State (2009-14).
“Nelson is going to bring a lot to the table for us,” said Head Coach Shaheen Holloway. “I’m excited to welcome him into our family as we continue to put our program in the best position possible for success.”
Seton Hall is entering head coach Shaheen Holloway’s fifth season and just missed out on the NCAA Tournament this season.
